Are You Willing To Pay “The Price”
February 23, 2009
Often we set our hearts on a goal or something we would like to have in our lives and we consistently fail to realize it. For some inexplicable reason we stumble and the dream never materializes. We look back and blame external circumstances or people and events. For a select few they also look within and see that their own habits, thoughts and actions played a role in not achieving what they wanted.
There is a very fundamental question you should be asking yourself in these circumstances. Was I willing to pay the price? Paying the price of having your goal involves more than merely going through the motions. It requires a deep unyielding commitment to achieve your goal no matter what it costs you in terms of money, time, habit changes, thought pattern changes and release of unserving beliefs and activities. It’s that extra push of energy that a champion exerts to win a race or the last steps of a grueling walk to freedom.
There is also something very special about “the price.” The price is personal its not based on what others have done to achieve what you want. The price is solely determinate on what you have to do to achieve your goal and nothing else. Your price might be more or less than what is required of another individual.
You lose ground when you start making comparisons. Another person’s actions and thoughts can serve as a guidepost but they should never be set up as the standard for what is necessary to achieve YOUR goals. Your price is personal and should always be treated as such. Stop feeling sorry for yourself when you have to work harder to achieve something. There are a great deal of things you do with minimal effort that others struggle through.
Remember this and rexamine your recent setbacks to see if you were really paying YOUR price.

Great post Christina, glad I caught this before I went to bed. It’s definitely been stumbled and dugg for you
I like how you go into the fact that it’s your price – truth is, your entire reality is your creation. If you don’t have something in your life, and you feel like you have to work for it – it’s because you do – this is the reality you’ve created.
The fastest way to achieve success is by adjusting your belief system while working in line with what you truly believe.
I love and appreciate everything you do,
Russell
On a side note, I don’t really like the way that you make users register and sign in before they post comments. It’s quite hassle some and may cause a handful of users to quit before leaving a comment they intended to post for you.
Thanks for the compliment and comment Russell. This was a very personal post for me. I have started to conquer some long standing challenges in my life because I finally understood this concept. As to making users register… I had some very bad problems with spammers when I started my blog. I have also had people over posting advertisements and full ads on themselves on the blog. I wanted to make it a discussion forum and not another Craigslist. So I let every comment through that is a real comment: agree or disagree with me. Unless of course they use profanity because I want to respect my audience that might not like that. I will reconsider the user registration issue soon. The spammers have slowed down. It think the name The “Female” Mind, attracted them.
It’s interesting to see how others accomplished their goals, but more important to understand what it will require of you to do the same. As each of us comes from a different place, with a unique skill set and life experiences, our path may or may not be similar.
Knowing what it will take may also cause you to shift your goals, as paying that price may not fit within your lifestyle or commitments to other projects or people. Taking on too much is a sure way to upset the balance that we all need to achieve success and happiness!
What an incredible insight. I am so happy to have you on my blog and as one of my twitter friends. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It was a nice surprise this morning.
